What's new in Version 5.0 of the Sound Alerts Twitch Extension?
First of all, no actions are needed on your side if you are already using our Twitch Extension — the new version will be applied to your Twitch channel automatically and works with your existing alert configuration. If you did not activate the Twitch Extension yet, do it here. Version 5.0 comes with many useful tweaks and updates — the list includes:
- A complete design and UI overhaul, available in various colors/styles
- Alert button thumbnails that let your viewers identify your alerts with ease
- A revamped leaderboard design showcasing your most loyal community members in the spotlight
- Improved cooldown visibility for all your alerts, letting your viewers browse alerts even when they are on cooldown
- The technical foundation to introduce many great new Extension features soon
The Extension through the Ages
Some might know that Sound Alerts did not start as the all-in-one streaming tool with overlays, animations, Text-to-Speech, and many of the features you love today. Back in 2018, there was just a Twitch Extension that initiated our journey with a simple interface.
We improved and tweaked the features throughout the years. When you compare these versions to 5.0, it becomes clear that we tried to combine the initial approach with a few modern UI ideas.
